Annual Report for 2019 now online

The Foundation’s Annual Report is now available on our website. Like before, for your reading pleasure, we provide you with a hefty package of financial information coupled with an as extensive and up-to-date review of the Foundation’s work as possible. We have reached major milestones in Baltic Sea protection while, at the same time, launching and searching for new projects.

Highlights of 2019 include the launch of the Baltic Sea Day, and the #OURSEA major campaign, launched together with Moomin Characters, which now, because of the coronavirus pandemic, is extended to continue until the end of July 2021. We have also included a few hot off the press new news items from April and May, such as the Digimuseo.fi service, opened together with the Finnish Museums Association in mid-May, and the recently launched and EU-funded Sustainable Biogas project.

In all its operations, the Foundation continues to work for impact and results. Results have led to new projects.  At the same time, we want to pilot new ways of saving the sea and safeguarding our marine cultural heritage.

“Measured by the number and quality of our new initiatives and cultural activities, we have in fact made this year and this spring unmatched by any other in the Foundation’s almost 30 years of history”, says Annamari Arrakoski-Engardt, Managing Director. Annamari’s introductory words are also published as a blog.
