Sampo’s Christmas donation to John Nurminen Foundation

Sampo plc has donated EUR 50,000 to the John Nurminen Foundation. The donation will support Clean Baltic Sea projects focusing on the conservation of the Baltic Sea.

Clean Baltic Sea projects improve the condition of the Baltic Sea through concrete measures to reduce environmental risks and burdens on the sea. At the same time, they contribute to the achievement of a number of UN Sustainable Development Goals.

“We want to support projects aiming to improve the state of the Baltic, because the matter concerns us deeply. Clean Baltic Sea projects contribute to the achievement of UN Sustainable Development Goals, which the Sampo Group is also committed to promoting”, says Johanna Tynkkynen, Sampo’s Head of Corporate Responsibility.

“Support from the private sector is crucial to the Foundation’s ability to carry out concrete conservation measures that have a real impact on the state of the Baltic Sea. That is why we are infinitely grateful to Sampo plc for their valuable support, which is safeguarding the sea we share and the well-being of those who live around it”, says Annamari Arrakoski-Engardt, CEO of the John Nurminen Foundation.

The purpose of the John Nurminen Foundation, established in 1992, is to save the Baltic Sea and its heritage for future generations.
