The John Nurminen Foundation’s privacy policy

The privacy policies below describe how the John Nurminen Foundation and its subsidiary, Baltic Sea Services Oy, process personal data.

We comply with legislation on the processing of personal data, that is, we process personal data in accordance with the EU’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). As we use data for a variety of purposes, we have created several registers with separate privacy policies.  These privacy policies explain things such as who the controller is, for what purpose data is being processed, how long personal data will be retained, how personal data is processed and protected, data subjects’ rights, and how data subjects can exercise their rights.

We collect personal data only for the purposes described in the registers and only for the purposes for which the data was originally collected. We collect only the personal data that is necessary in relation to the purposes for which it is being processed. The protection of personal data is important to us, and we comply with both good data management practices and the due diligence and obligations laid down in Data Protection Legislation.

We primarily collect data from data subjects themselves. We also collect personal data from public sources, or by using cookies and other similar technologies on our website and in our newsletters.

John Nurminen Foundation and Baltic Sea Services Oy customer and supporter register 

We use personal data for the management and development of customer, donor and supporter relations, and for targeting our communications and marketing. The main purpose for processing personal data is to implement agreements, provide customer service, develop our activities and customer experience, and keep people informed about our activities.

We collect contact details for parties such as our project partners, service providers and Baltic Sea Action Day partners, so that we can keep them informed about our activities and invite stakeholder representatives to our events and functions.
