Museum and collections

The John Nurminen Foundation is an award-winning disseminator of information and producer of marine content. The John Nurminen Foundation’s marine history cultural activities focus on the history of seafaring, exploration, and cartography, and disseminating information on these topics. The Foundation’s collections of naval art, maritime antiquities and ancient maps form the basis for these activities.

The best of our maritime art collection, the intricacies of maritime antiquity and lovely old maps, and of course the jewel of our collection, Inkeri Nurminen's captain's salon from 1892 are on display in the John Nurminen Foundation's museum. You can also get take a look at the foundation's collections and changing exhibitions at the Digimuseum, founded and owned by the John Nurminen Foundation and the Finnish Museum Association.
