The Horizon expands again in October

The Horizon work of art, located in the Jätkäsaari pier, will grow again in October when gleams 3381-3718, bearing the names of their donors, will be installed to the artwork. The installations are always made in batches of a certain size. Installations can commence once the names have been engraved to the gleams using lasers, and the boards, composed of gleams, have been assembled.

The remaining 507 gleams will be installed once all donations have been made, and the work can grow to its full length of 54 metres. The first part of the work was installed in the summer of 2013, in connection with The Tall Ships Races Helsinki 2013. The full net proceeds from the Horizon campaign will be used to cut phosphorus discharges to the Baltic Sea. Collected funds have already financed storage and dosing equipment for phosphorus coagulation chemicals at the wastewater treatment plant of the city of Gatchina.
